Thrift Stores Rock!!!

As I spend time at the new Annex Thrift Store and Somethin' Salvaged, I am pleasantly surprised to have already encountered a handful of people that are looking for architectural salvage as they restore their 100 year old homes! As some of you know, THAT is my true LOVE. I would certainly like to be the one to help people find old house parts, so they can restore their treasure. I have been in contact with a few people, and architectural salvage yards, and I think I may be able to get a small supply started. Windows and doors seem to be the most demand at the moment so a road trip may be in order to get a supply brought in to sell.

In the meantime...

I have been busy working in my workshop and here are a few of my latest transformations...gotta love The Salvation Army,The Idaho Youth Ranch and Deseret Industries where I shop to find my junk. Patty and Chris at The Salvation Army are the BEST!!! They know just what I am looking for and are SO nice when I show up. They even let me dumpster dive:) Oh the treasures from the trash...love you guys:)

The following are from The Salvation Army.  Here is a freebie.....

This is NOT my changing table.  Mine was baby blue but it is the same style.

Time to go Pickin' again now that these projects are done.

  1. I have the same sewing machine cabinet. It has my grandmas sewing machine in it.
